At Jasmine Beauty we like to do our homework and invest time into looking at what’s up and coming regarding new brow trends from abroad. We like to stay current in our industry but also true to our brand and to the brow couture we have grown and developed over the years. We are true believers in timeless beauty! The number one thing we promise our clients is to protect the longevity & health of the brow, so we only offer treatments that align with this. As we know, the beauty industry is full of wonderful new trends and ideas to reinvent ourselves - but be careful! Not all of these ideas protect the health of our precious eyebrows. But what will the “modern” brow look like in 2020? We have seen brows play a major role in fashion over the last several years. Very defined, very dark and very bold. Just like fashion trends, brow trends shift. Brows are now becoming softer, less defined and definitely not as dark and opaque. It may start to drift away from the heavy look that some clients are asking for - especially in microblading and block tinting - and become more transparent. We have had the dark, highly emphasised brow for several years, but now we are starting to see more skin show through the brow hairs. Brushing the brows up, above the natural line also allows more skin to show through. We noticed this last year with the Lamination and soap brow trend on the rise. You should be seeing this look spill over into 2020. Not everyone’s brows are naturally long enough to achieve this feathery, brushed up look. And many older women feel it looks a bit too messy. After much consideration during 2019 we have decided to NOT offer Brow Lamination as a treatment at Jasmine Beauty Therapy as we believe that there can be some risks involved with this technique that may damage hairs. We are all about the long term health of your brow. We believe the “brushed up look” can be achieved with careful grooming and the use of our quality products. One trend that has kept its strength over the past few years is the very full brow. Although brows will still be full, we feel that brows may slim down just a bit. A full brow equals youth, but starting in 2020 we may be headed for a slightly slimmer brow over the next few years. We won’t be diving back into the super slim brow of the 90’s, but brows may no longer be ultra-full. Another thing to take note of is texture. Adding texture and a wispy look to a brow is possible using products. This can give a more “natural” look so using gels and powders should also continue to be on point. Once again, with texture, you are seeing more skin breaking through. So a dark, heavy brow will be less desirable. You will also see highlighting of the brow hairs using gel or gloss. Using a brow gel that adds gloss and sheen to the hairs, so light is reflected, will be big in 2020. And what about brow colour for 2020? Brows could begin to be a little less matchy-matchy with your hair colour. In fact, using a powder or pencil that is lighter than your brows may be the next trend. Once again this ties back into the fluffier, more transparent brow. So to wrap it up, here is what to watch for in 2020 Brow Trends: - Softer and less dramatic - Skin showing through the brow hairs - Texture added using brow gels, soft pencil work and powders - Adding light reflecting gel to the hairs ie clear brow mascara - Not quite as ultra-full - Brow colour may be lighter than hair colour Want to get your hands on some amazing brow products?

We're so lucky to have these two ladies behind our brand identity. Helping us to get our message, image and education out to you, these women have been so important in helping Jasmine Beauty Therapy strive to always be and do better. Lindsey and Georgi tell us about themselves below: GEORGI O'KEEFE Hi everyone, My name is Georgi and I am a Beauty Therapist and Digital Media Assistant for Jasmine Beauty Therapy. I completed my studies in 2017 at Federation University Ballarat, where I was awarded ‘Beauty Student of the Year’. I then joined the Jasmine team in late 2018 after working in the spa industry. I wanted to further explore my love for all things brows, lashes and makeup. My interest in beauty therapy started at a young age when I had concerns with my own skin that strongly affected my confidence and how I saw myself. I wanted to help women of all ages who were struggling with the same concerns and insecurities, helping them to embrace what they have and let themselves shine through in the most beautiful way possible. This is what Jasmine Beauty Therapy is all about and why I really value my position. I am genuinely excited to come to work every day. Since then I have also had the opportunity to combine my love of social media and content creation with my passion for health and beauty by securing the role of ‘Digital Media Assistant’ here at Jasmine Beauty Therapy. In this role I work with Lindsey (Our Graphic Designer) to create media content and advertising concepts that work to deliver our message and education while empowering our audience. LINDSEY SEWART Hey there, my name is Lindsey and I am the Graphic Designer for Jasmine Beauty Therapy. I have been working with this amazing company for over 4 years now, getting to know the team while I worked for a small Design company in Ballarat. In 2017, I worked in the salon for a short time, continuing with graphic design work and helping out with reception during some busy months. After a short break in 2018 in which I moved to Sydney and had my son, Jasmine Beauty Therapy and I were ready to put our heads together once again. I have connected with this incredible salon and the group of women behind it since the first day I walked through their doors. I have so easily found drive to market their message because it aligns so beautifully with my own - to help women. Never have I met someone as passionate about empowering women as Wendy Spicer, owner of Jasmine Beauty Therapy. Together we have worked for years to bring you a vision of a brand that wants to see women confident in their own skin. Not modifying features to hide the real beauty away, but to magnify it. I will always be excited to get behind this message - and this amazing team. Keep up with our work here on our website and also on Instagram. See you soon x LEARNING FROM MISTAKES
The eyebrow speaks volumes now and in the past! However, I think we are more aware than ever of the importance of promoting growth and health to the eyebrow because of the mistakes from our past. Have we learnt a lesson? Absolutely we have! At Jasmine Beauty Therapy, we want to take what we know now as well as what history has provided and continue to evolve our own comprehensive training to give you the very best in eyebrow design. Read through this insightful summary of the history of eyebrows. At Jasmine Beauty we like to be in touch with new industry ideas and innovations, plus anything that can improve or tweak our current treatments. We are aware that some brow “trends” can come and go but we like to focus on the long term solutions that ofter our client the best results. Our main focus is on brow health, brow restoration (growing back damaged brows) and education to prevent long term damage. In saying that.. over the last few months we have been following a new beauty treatment called Brow Lamination. You may have already heard about this... What is Brow Lamination?
Brow Lamination is basically a technique used on the eyebrows to help set your brow hairs in place for up to 8 weeks. During the Lamination process, various solutions are placed on your eyebrows which allow the hairs to become more pliable and more easily brushed into place. If you are one of those people who need to brush and set your brows into place by using a gel each morning, then Lamination can make this process a little easier as the hairs are more pliable afterwards. It can help create symmetry and style brows that are growing in different directions from one another. Who should get Brow Lamination? Brow Lamination should be done on clients who have a good coverage of hair on their eyebrows. It does not add brow hair and should not be done on a client with sparse hair to avoid the products sitting directly on the skin, plus gaps without hair may look more noticeable after Lamination. People with brows that are unruly and wirey are good candidates. Also, people who have brows that don't stay in place or who have a lot of brow hair bunched together and want their brows to look fuller, bigger and more tame Who shouldn’t get brow Lamination Clients with reactions to Lash Lift products, sensitive skin and/or skin conditions. Anyone who has had a facial peel or a cosmetic procedure in the 2 weeks prior to the treatment or 2 weeks after those procedures. Important points to remember • Over processing the brow hair can cause hair weakness, breakage and damage. • Changing the direction of the hair too much can also risk hair breakage and can damage the hair shaft. At the moment we don’t have an opinion for or against Brow Lamination but we will let you know if this is something we will be offering once we have witnessed the results over a period of time. We want our clients to be well informed before trying new treatments, there is still plenty to be learnt regarding brow health. Keep in mind, some past “trends” are the reason we are so busy now restoring brows! Jasmine Beauty Therapy is in its 18th year of life! Having spent the last 4 years calling Myer Ballarat our home, we've expanded our reach with the opening of a Daylesford Salon in March. Our owner - Wendy Spicer - has always had a love of makeup and an interest in connecting with people on a more personal level. " I enjoy seeing how physical change can make someone feel about themselves, but I also believe that beauty is so much more, it is not just skin deep. Beauty comes from within, a belief and acceptance of self. " Wendy is a specialist in Brow Designs and over many years has studied different eyebrow courses - including training with an accredited international eyebrow training organisation, then studying to become an educator. " I now run my own brow design training course for my staff, so that we can deliver a professional and consistent service to all our clients. Jasmine Beauty Therapy specialises in growing back damaged brows, brow reconstructions and brow transformations, plus regular brow designs for men and women."
Our three most popular services include: • Brow Consultation and Design (1hr $90) - perfect for a first-timer or someone with damaged brows. • Brow Design (30mins $50 - teenager $40) - where brows are waxed, shaped, trimmed and tinted (if required) including makeup touch-up and application of brow products • Henna Brow Design ($100 first-time and $65 for follow up) - henna tinting 'stains' the skin more effectively than regular tinting and sets to a powder like matte finish, excellent for filling in gaps and defining brows.
